Caregivers at the heart
Recognising our Heroes
Caregivers sit at the very heart of the service. Without considering them, very little can be done. In order to realise an improvement, the role must align with their motivations.

Because we care...
Emotionally, can I afford to be a Caregiver?
“Most of my clients are vulnerable and often have no one else to turn to. The time I am allocated often does not reflect their physical or emotional needs. Some have worsening mental abilities, so everything takes just that little bit longer, and the service I am able to provide gets weaker over time.
Some just need a few extra minutes to have a chat over a cuppa, to share a memory, to raise a smile - a little bit more compassion, a little bit less just existing.
It’s hard walking away from these people that I care for when my job is not done – it troubles me. I became a caregiver to care, sometimes I wonder whether anybody else cares?”
Financially, can I afford to be a Caregiver?
“I can only afford to be a caregiver if the hours I see clients are maximised. Our pay is calculated based on the hours we spend with clients, and travel time. So, if my hours are not maximised, or I have lots of downtime between clients, I cannot earn enough money to sustain being a caregiver. It’s not just about our rate of pay, it’s about monthly earnings. I need the security and reassurance that my monthly income is enough to pay my bills”.
Is Caring a Career?
“It should be, but it doesn’t feel like it. I need time to learn new skills, so that I can care better, so that I can help more people and so that I feel like I am making progress”.
Caring for the Caregivers
Careguider uses some smart technology in the background that utilises the caregivers available hours, location and valuable skill sets. The subsequent benefits means happier and more fulfilled caregivers.
What are the benefits?
The solution uses some clever algorithms to minimise caregiver travel and downtime.
With increased efficiency, additional time is released for caregivers to care for their clients, time to care for more clients and time to learn new skills.
Caregiver available hours will be properly utilised, making the best use of their valuable skills.
As a result of these benefits, caregivers should find their role more fulfilling, more rewarding and they are more likely to stay.
